RGO started as a private, family–owned company in Calgary incorporated in 1966 with roots selling typewriters. Over the years, RGO expanded, diversified, and re-invented its business several times to remain relevant and deliver top-quality products and services to our clients. Today, RGO has evolved to the largest dealer of its kind in Western Canada of commercial furniture, window coverings, flooring, technology, architectural solutions, move and storage management.

With locations in Calgary, Edmonton and Canmore, RGO is proud to offer sales, service and installations solutions to customers in the surrounding area. Our showroom and warehouse facilities are over 200,000 sq ft. and we have more than 200 experienced team members ready to serve our customers.

Ross Glen | Our Founder & Chairman

RGO began operating in 1966 with three people and has since grown to a staff of over 200 employees in Calgary, Edmonton and Canmore. From the outset, Founder Ross Glen understood that establishing a diverse dealership would be essential to success. Today, RGO is the largest dealership of its kind in western Canada. Since its inception, RGO has endeavored to be a “one stop shop” serving Albertans; providing and servicing all products with a full comprehensive range of value-added services.

In 2016, Ross was inducted into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame. Mr. Glen demonstrates a strong commitment to the city, province and country that he proudly calls home. He stated “Calgary has always been our town. I’m a local guy, we started RGO 50 years ago and we’ve done a lot of good things for the city. But we’ve always been interested in supporting health and education and theatre, those are our big focuses We do our share to make things better for people and I think that’s important.”

Ross was appointed in 2020 to the Order of Canada, signifying Canada recognizing and honoring his extraordinary contributions to the nation. The evaluation criteria for this esteemed honor included achievement, dedication to community, and service to the Nation, under the recognition category of philanthropy and entrepreneurship.

RGO Edmonton

RGO Edmonton was established in 1996 under the leadership of Ken Barry, who partnered with Ross Glen to bring a more focused offering of service, knowledge and products to the office interiors sector in northern Alberta. With Ken’s background at Steelcase Canada, his vision and expertise helped shape RGO Edmonton into a trusted brand, known for delivering industry leading service along with innovative workplace solutions.

Over the years, the company has continuously evolved, expanding its services and offerings to better support its clients. This growth includes the introduction of Window Coverings in 2019 and the launch of a Technologies division in 2023.

Today, with a team of 60 dedicated employees, RGO Edmonton remains committed to serving northern Albertans across workplace, healthcare, education, and government sectors, helping organizations create functional and inspiring spaces that support productivity and well-being.

RGO Flooring | Canmore

RGO Canmore was established in 2014 as we expanded our flooring offerings. RGO Flooring proudly partners with the leading brands in the flooring industry.

Cathy Orr | Our President & CEO

Cathy Orr joined RGO in 1983, in the Window Coverings division. At the time, Window Coverings was a small division with only two salespeople. Calgary won the bid for the 1988 Olympics and RGO Window Coverings won the contract for the Olympic skating oval. That put RGO Window Coverings on the map.

In 1994, Cathy was promoted to Manager of the department and later became Vice President of Window Coverings and Corporate Initiatives in 2008. RGO Window Coverings has since become one of the largest window covering dealers in Canada, providing both commercial and residential window coverings.

In 2016, Cathy was appointed President and CEO of RGO. Cathy completed two terms as a public member of the Bow Valley Board of Governors. She currently serves on the Board of Governors for Calgary Petroleum Club and is a member of the Finance Committee. Additionally, she is involved with BOMA, the Calgary Construction Association, the International Women’s Forum Calgary Chapter, and the Business Council of Alberta.

Cathy is a business leader who has been recognized for her contributions to the community and workplace. In 2024, Cathy won the Business in Calgary Leaders Award, and led the organization in being recognized as a Best Managed Company – Platinum status.

Cathy has a strong heart for Calgary and its people. She resonates with the United Way slogan “For Calgary to be a great place, it has to be great for everyone”. Cathy carries on RGO’s legacy of giving back to the community.
